Rug pulls

Liquidity pull, dev dump, honeypot.

Three ways to take your SOL. A rug is any setup where the people behind a coin take the money and leave. The three common shapes: pull the liquidity, dump the dev supply, or block selling (a honeypot).

Liquidity pull. The creator removes the SOL from the pool. The chart goes straight down and your tokens have nothing to sell into. On migrated coins, check whether liquidity is locked or burned.

Dev dump. The creator kept a large share of supply and sells it into the first wave of buyers. Price collapses in seconds. A dev holding over 10 to 15% is a warning.

Honeypot. The contract lets you buy but not sell, or taxes sells at 99%. Your position looks green and you cannot leave. Solana memecoins mostly avoid this, but it exists.

The tell-tale signs. Brand-new pair. Tiny liquidity. One wallet with most of the supply. Socials that appeared an hour ago. A dev wallet that has done this before. None of these alone is proof; three together usually are.

Get rugged here first. In MemeSim a rugged coin shows a red explainer with what happened and what the signs were. That lesson costs you fake SOL, not rent.
