Summary

MemeSim is a free Solana memecoin trading simulator. You trade live coins with fake SOL, including real fees, slippage and rugs.

You pick a starting balance of 1 to 1,000 fake SOL. You then buy and sell real coins at their live prices. Every order goes through the same delay, price impact and fee stack as a real trade. The only fake thing is the money.

Around the simulator sit a learning hub (Trench Academy), a strategy journal, copy trading, share cards and a weekly leaderboard. There is no real money anywhere in the product, no token, and no financial advice.

The problem

Most people who start trading Solana memecoins lose money in the first weeks. The reasons repeat. Fees look small until they are itemized: a swap fee, a platform fee, a priority fee and a network fee on every buy and every sell. A trade that was up 30% on the chart can close flat after costs.

Slippage and price impact are the second surprise. Memecoin pools are thin. A buy of 1 SOL into a pool holding 5 SOL moves the price a lot. The price also moves while your order is in flight, so the fill is worse than the quote, or the order fails and the priority fee is gone.

Rugs are the third. Liquidity gets pulled, a dev dumps a large supply, or a honeypot lets you buy but never sell. The position goes to zero in seconds. FOMO drives people into all three: a chart that is already green feels like it will keep going, and that feeling is what every pump needs to find its last buyers.

Until now there was no safe place to practice any of this. Real trading teaches the lessons, but the tuition is paid in SOL. MemeSim exists so your first rug is free.

What MemeSim is

MemeSim is a web app at memesim.exchange. You sign in with Google, an email magic link or a Solana wallet. You choose a username and a starting balance, and you can trade within a minute. It works on a phone with one hand.

The coin feed comes from pump.fun launches and other Solana launchpads, with live stats such as market cap, liquidity, volume, buys and sells. You can also paste any contract address. Each coin page shows the live price, learning flags and your position.

Every trade produces a receipt that itemizes what you paid, how far the price moved and why you won or lost. You tag each buy with a reason and an emotion. Your strategy page then shows which reasons make you money after 5 closed trades.

  • What it is not: there is no real money, no deposits and no withdrawals. Fake SOL cannot be bought, sold or exchanged for anything of value.
  • There is no MemeSim token today. Any coin using the name is not us.
  • Nothing in MemeSim is financial advice. Prices, flags, hints, verdicts and other traders' trades are information for practice only.

How the simulation works

Prices are live. Our servers read Solana market data and fan it out to every viewer; your browser never calls the data providers. The simulation engine runs only on the server. The browser never computes a fill or a balance, so no one can send their own price.

Delay: when you tap buy or sell, the order is quoted at that moment, then waits a random 1 to 3 seconds. The market is read again and the order fills against the fresh price. This is the same wait you feel on-chain.

Price impact: the fill uses constant-product math. Impact equals your trade size in USD divided by the pool's quote liquidity plus your size. A 1 SOL buy into a pool with 100 SOL of liquidity moves the price about 1%. A pool with no liquidity means total impact.

Slippage: the default limit is 15%, and you can set anything from 0.1% to 100%. If the fill, including impact, moves past your limit against the quote, the order fails. The priority fee and network fee are still charged, exactly as on-chain.

Fees are listed in one config file with the source and the date each number was checked. Every receipt itemizes them.

Rugs and honeypots: if a pair's liquidity is gone or the price is zero, buys are cancelled and sells return almost nothing. Your position shows as rugged with a plain-language explanation of what happened and when. A coin with many buys and no sells is treated as a honeypot: your sell fails with that explanation, and the priority fee is still charged.

Runs and balance resets: you pick 1 to 1,000 fake SOL at onboarding. You can change it in Settings, which starts a new run, wipes open positions and removes you from the current leaderboard season. This is limited to once every 24 hours. Trade history keeps every run.

  • Launchpad swap fee: 1.25% on the pump.fun bonding curve, 0.30% on PumpSwap after migration, 0.25% on other AMM pools.
  • Platform fee: 1% of trade size, like the trading bots charge.
  • Priority fee: 0.001 SOL by default, adjustable from 0 to 1 SOL. Charged even when the order fails.
  • Network fee: 0.000005 SOL per transaction.
  • Trade size: 0.01 to 1,000 SOL per order.
  • Simulated results ignore MEV, sandwiching and failed-transaction costs. Real results will usually be worse.

Trench Academy

Trench Academy is the learning hub at /learn. It has 12 short lessons in four chapters: Basics, Trading, Scams and rugs, and Protect yourself. Each lesson takes 2 to 4 minutes and is told in 4 to 6 story cards with a calm, plain tone.

Basics covers the contract address and market cap, liquidity, the bonding curve and migration, and why early supply matters. Trading covers FOMO, position sizing and taking profits. Scams covers rug pulls, wash trading and volume bots, bundles and snipers, fake liquidity, and KOLs and exit liquidity.

Every lesson ends with a quiz that gives instant feedback and a "Try it in the sim" link that opens the right screen in the app. Your progress is saved. The Scams chapter also has a field guide of 12 scam cards and a "Spot the scam" quiz, and the Protect chapter has a checklist. Rugs, failed sells and fake-liquidity blocks in the app link straight to the lesson that explains them.

Learn from traders

Every public profile shows a trader's run percent, win rate, trades, open holdings, strategy tags and calls. You can follow a trader to see their fills in your feed, with the reason tag and thesis they wrote.

Copy trading mirrors another trader's buys into your account with fake SOL. Each copied order goes through the same delay, fees and slippage as your own trades, so copying a good trader can still lose when your fill is worse than theirs.

  • You choose a size per trade from 0.01 to 10 SOL and a total cap of up to 1,000 SOL, never more than your balance.
  • Copied buys carry the leader's tags and note, so your strategy page can judge their reasons against your results.
  • You can pause or stop copying at any time from Settings. Private traders cannot be copied and never alert followers.
  • Copying is a way to learn a strategy, not a signal to follow with real money.

Leaderboard and seasons

Seasons are weekly and start on Monday at 00:00 WAT. Traders are ranked by realized P&L percent on their starting balance, so a 1 SOL account and a 1,000 SOL account compete fairly.

You need at least 5 closed trades in the season to appear. Starting a new run drops you from the current season; you can rank again from the next Monday. Private profiles are still ranked but show as "Private trader" with no link.

There are no prizes. The leaderboard is for practice and bragging rights only, and every share card is marked as a paper trade.

Safety and privacy

Profiles are public by default so others can learn from your trades. You can switch to a private profile in Settings. A private profile is not linked anywhere, shows as "Private trader" on the leaderboard, and its page is not reachable.

Your email address and your wallet address are never shown to other users. We never see or store private keys or seed phrases. Wallet login signs one plain text message so the server can verify who you are; it never asks you to sign a transaction.

Your data lives with Supabase in the EU (London) and is served through Vercel. Every table is protected by row-level security, so users can read only their own rows. Balances, positions and trades change only inside one server function; the browser can never supply a fill price.

You can download everything as JSON from Settings: profile, wallet, runs, trades, positions, lessons, follows and calls. You can delete your account from Settings too. Deletion removes all of it, including share pages and leaderboard rows.

Roadmap

MemeSim is live and free today. The list below is what the build plan actually names as next. Dates move, and nothing here is a promise.

  • Always-on market data worker, so live bonding-curve prices and the trade tape no longer depend on a single machine.
  • Live candle chart and trade tape on the coin page, replacing the embedded chart.
  • Live copy-trade mirroring and in-app rug and copy notifications, which depend on that worker.
  • Better fills for migrated coins from a routing quote, instead of the constant-product estimate.
  • On-chain holder data for Pulse filters: holders, top 10 share, dev holding, bundles and snipers.
  • Linking a second login method to one account.

Official links

The only website is memesim.exchange. The only X account is @Memesimapp. Anything else that claims to be MemeSim is not us.

There is no MemeSim coin. If that ever changes, the contract address will appear first at memesim.exchange/official, and you should compare it character by character before trusting any other source.

We never message you first, never ask for a seed phrase or private key, and never ask you to sign a transaction.

Questions

Yes. There are no deposits, no subscriptions and no fake SOL for sale. It is free forever.
Are the fees and slippage real?
Yes. The launchpad swap fee, a 1% platform fee, your priority fee and the network fee are charged on every order, and a fill that moves past your slippage limit fails.
Can I cash out fake SOL?
No. Fake SOL has no value and cannot be withdrawn, sold or exchanged for anything.
Is there a MemeSim coin?
No. There is no MemeSim coin today. Check memesim.exchange/official before trusting any contract address with our name.
