Wash trading and volume bots
Why big volume can mean nothing.
Volume is easy to fake. A bot can buy and sell the same coin to itself hundreds of times an hour. The volume number goes up. No real buyer appeared.
Why they do it. High volume gets a coin onto trending lists and into traders' feeds. The bot's owner wants you to see it, buy it, and become their exit.
How to spot it. Hundreds of transactions but the price barely moves. Buys and sells almost perfectly balanced. The same few wallets trading back and forth.
What real demand looks like. Many different wallets. More buys than sells. The price actually rising with the volume. Growth that continues when the bots would have stopped.
Use the ratio. Pulse shows buys/sells for the last hour. 180/175 with a flat price is a bot. 60/15 with a rising price is interest.
