Transactions and fees

It lands or it fails. Nothing in between.

A transaction lands or fails. There is no half. Solana runs the whole thing or rolls it back. You keep your tokens and pay a small fee.

Base fee plus priority fee. The base fee is tiny and fixed. The priority fee is an optional tip to get in faster when the network is busy.

Slippage is separate. Slippage is the price moving between quote and fill. It is not a fee, and raising it does not fix the network.

Failed means nothing happened. Your swap did not fill because the price moved past your slippage. You still hold your SOL. Re-quote or walk away.

Quick check.

The swap failed. Now what? A practice coin, a failed swap and a moving price. Buy means retry at 50% slippage, skip means re-quote calmly.

A Solana transaction is atomic: every instruction in it succeeds or the whole thing is rolled back, and the network keeps only the small fee. Priority fees matter when blocks are full, which on memecoin launch days is often. Slippage is set in the trading app and only controls what price you accept.
