How P&L is calculated

Entry, mark, size. Then fees and funding.

Entry, mark, size. That is the P&L. Unrealized P&L is the mark price minus your entry, times your size. Long: up is positive. Short: flip the sign.

0.01 BTC, $1,000 move, $10. Long 0.01 BTC at $77,000. Mark goes to $78,000. (78,000 minus 77,000) times 0.01 = $10. Margin does not appear anywhere.

$10 on $100 margin is 10%. Long $1,000 of BTC with $100 margin. Price +1%: +$10, which is 10% of margin. Price −1%: −$10. Leverage changes the feeling, not the dollars.

Then fees and funding. Open and close at market: 0.045% twice is 0.09% of $1,000, about 90 cents. Plus every hourly funding payment, in or out.

Realized means closed. Unrealized P&L moves with the mark. Realized P&L is what the close filled at, minus fees and funding. Only realized is yours.

Do the math.

Fee check.

Green on screen. Is it yours? Long $1,000 of BTC, $100 margin. Unrealized +$12, funding positive. Buy means add, skip means hold for more, sell means close and realize it.

Unrealized P&L is (mark price minus entry) times size for a long, and the reverse for a short; it changes every time the mark does. When you close, the fill price replaces the mark and the result becomes realized. Taker fees of 0.045% on open and close, plus every hourly funding payment, are deducted along the way, so a trade that is green on the price can be red in your balance. MemeSim shows all three on the position card.
